Science Fun

Yesterday we talked more about what scientists do and how they experiment and invent things.  Students had the opportunity to create an apple picker out of paper and tape. They were all very excited to try out their inventions on some paper apples.

In math today we watched a short video that reminded students that speed is not important, but making connections and explaining your thoughts and ideas is.  We have been practicing our silent thumbs up when we have an idea to share.  The reason behind the silent thumbs up is to not shut down other peoples thinking.

In the afternoon we will start our first novel, called The Year of Billy Miller.

Reminders:

Our library day is Tuesday morning.
Parent night is this Thursday.   It will be an early dismissal and no school on Friday.
